The Nature of Higher Understanding vs Perception 0:00

כמאמר לית מחשבה תפיסא בך כלל, שהוא מחשבה דבינה, that means the מחשבה of understanding. The מחשבה of the השגה of the explanations is not really תופס at all in the actual מהות of the thing. דהיינו שזה היפך הש- היפך ההשגה, this is the opposite of the השגה. Right. This thing of חכמה, the ראיה of חכמה is the exact opposite of השגה.

The more that he learns and the more that he thinks deeply into it, the more the thing is amazingly far from him. Right. עצמות אור המאציל, the actual selfness of the of the of the of the light of the אייבערשטער. כולו, והסימן לזה, הוא הנולד מזה בחינת הביטול ביותר, and the סימן from this is that the the that there's this fantastic humility, that the actual humility is not that that that he's humble in relationship to the 10-foot tall guy.

True Humility Beyond Simple Comparisons 1:06

Yeah, it's not that he's humble in relationship to the 10-foot tall guy, but then when he'd realize what a real

ענק is, like עוג מלך הבשן, then he says, "Wow, I mean there's no way I'm going to go up against him." Like even משה רבינו, the only way he went up against him is because the אייבערשטער promised him that he's going to help him. Right. משה was worried. When he saw עוג מלך הבשן, he said, "Wait a minute! Whoa! Whoa, dude! This this guy is, you know, picking up mountains and throwing them at us!

How are we going to fight him?" So it's it's an ענין of total ביטול and humility. And and and this is where the real humility comes from, not from what most people think humility is, because of the what most people think humility is is like basically you're humble that you're 5-foot tall and the other guy is 10-foot tall.

Right. Over here, it's like a totally שלא בערך. You say, "Wait a minute, like I'm total nothing, I'm not even I'm not even an inch tall." Right. "I'm like nothing." The whole universe with the suns and everything like that is nothing, never mind to the light of the מאציל, to מלכות דעשיה.

Right. So, where what do I have to talk about? So, from this will come the ביטול ביותר, means and and דווקא this is the real humility, where people what people think humbleness is really שפלות, which really you're not supposed to be a שפל. Right. So that it's not they they think that you should think that, "Oh, I'm not such a big shot, I don't understand so good."

Real Humility vs False Humbleness 2:44

He says, "No, it's just just the opposite." He he is a big shot. He got he got the השגה of בינה. And he knows that he got the השגה of בינה, and he's very happy from it, and he knows it's good for him, and he knows that he got it.

But but when it's in comparison of the of the actual הפלאה, then it's it makes no difference how big he is, it's it's still nothing. Right.

And if they don't come simultaneously, that means you're not studying חסידות properly.

Kabbalists' Misunderstanding of Humility and Understanding 3:51

Right. And this is basically what you see with a lot of these kabbalists, that there's either one or the other. Either the either there's a thing of the understanding and they get it to be real big shots,

and they think that they think they're really something now, Right. Or else they don't want to understand nothing, and they just want to have some some kind of a sense of הפלאה and humility, but it's not a real humility cuz there's no since there's no השגה, so there's no הפלאה either. Right. There's no real הפלאה. It's not a real humility, it's a false humility. שבאים כאחד דווקא בכל התבוננות, בכל פרט דווקא, בכל פרט ופרט דווקא, any התבוננות that you go through this whole book, goes in both of these things.

והא בהא תליא, and one depends on the other. That means if you don't get one, that you that you you don't have the other either.

If he doesn't have the understanding in the יש, that means he doesn't really have the הפלאה in the אין. And if he tells you that he God. He says, "Oh, I just have the הפלאה. I believe in God, and I'm a humble guy.

Link Between Understanding (יש) and Awe (אין) 4:52

I'm a simple little guy. I don't need all of this understanding." He says, "Hey, how could you be a simple little guy? You don't have the understanding, that means you don't have the הפלאה and you're not really a humble guy, you're really a בעל גאוה." Right. "You think you're something." He says, "What do you mean? I don't think I'm something." He says, "Yes, you do. Even if a little tiny thing you think you are, because you don't have the the השגה of בינה, so that means you're a בעל גאוה."

Right. And at the same time, According to how happy he is and what a great big shot he realizes he's becoming, that he's ממש becoming a master of רזי דרזין like literally.

That's how much the ביטול is. That's how much he'll get humble also. Right. Exactly according to his השגה in the התהוות היש, that's exactly the ערך הפלאה in how how fantastically above us the אויבערשטער is. Right.

This is not just that I'm telling you something that this are just a a by the way. This is a כלל גדול, this is a general principle.

The Great Principle of חסידות 6:23

You know, like ואהבת לרעך כמוך, זה כלל גדול בתורה. Right. Because this is the central כלל of the whole חסידות.

If you don't see any ביטול there, then that means he didn't he didn't understand nothing. And he says it, בודאי, בלי ספק. ומי שנדמה לו בחינת הביטול בעצמו מצד הפלאת ערך המהות, somebody who thinks, "Well, I'm just having ביטול because I think of the greatness of God," ולא השיג בכי טוב אופן התהוות, and he does not know the ענינים of סדר השתלשלות, כולו דמיון שוא הוא. It's just a false imagination.

ואין לו בחינת ביטול כלל, and he's not humble at all. He's not a humble guy. One depends on the other. And it and it's exactly according to the ערך. It's commensurate. Is that what you call it? Commensurate, right? Right, right. Means according to how much you understand in the חסידות, that's how humble you are. And according to how בטל you are, that's how much you understand in the חסידות.

Humility Directly Proportional to Understanding 7:44

In direct proportion to it. It's direct proportion to each other. וכנודע לכל טועם טעם התבוננות באמת, and as is known to anybody who's a טועם טעם התבוננות באמת, ואינם מרמים את עצמם כלל, and they don't fool themselves, וכאשר יובן כל אלה הרגילים בדברי חסידות מנעוריהם כולו, and this is understood to anybody who knows חסידות from his young age, ורבים מאוד יטעו בעצמם בכל זה, and many people make a whole big טעות in themselves.

They think that they know חסידות and they think that they're humble, בכמה אופנים שונים, in all kinds of different ways. Well, it's not the humility is not what what they think is שפלות. Like what it explains about משה רבינו, that he was the most humble person there was. And yet you see in various places he acted kind of he acted like a king.

And if they didn't listen to him, he got mad. You know, what kind of humility is this? Yeah, because he was comparing himself with the אויבערשטער.

Not that he didn't know his his level. Just the opposite. It says what he says here is just just opposite. If you if you're not a big shot in חסידות, you're not a simple guy. Right. You can't call yourself an idiot like פתי יאמין לכל דבר, that "I'm just a little nothing that just believes in God." He says, "No, you're not, because you don't know no חסידות.

So how can you be a little nothing that that just believes in God?" Right. Because הא בהא תליא.

So, that and and by the way, this also fits in in the ענינים later on of this is basically the the שמחה of בינה and the ביטול of חכמה. Right. And this this belongs with the chapters on on יחודי אבא.

That this the יחוד אבא, that the יחוד אבא is constant. Right. You know, תרין רעין דלא מתפרשין, two friends that never leave each other. They can't Can't be, what is it, can't have one without the other? They can't have one without the other, means if you don't have בינה you don't have חכמה, if you don't have חכמה you don't have בינה. You can't have just the ענין of בינה of understanding into it, and you can't have a ענין of just a ביטול of חכמה.

Right. Like like like what these idiots are saying about, you know, oh, just blank out your mind. Right. And that's חכמה? No, there can't be חכמה, cuz there ain't no חכמה without בינה.

Right. Okay. All right. Okay, זייט געזונט. Right, you as well. Bye, הצלחה
