Recap of vessels and light in previous chapter 0:07

פרק ל"א. So in the last פרק, in פרק ל', we explained about the details of the vessels of the brain, the heart, and the liver, and how each one has inner, the inner vessels, and the middle vessels, and the outer vessels. And then we explained how the main thing is the is still the light, even though the vessels have their own source, because the light is what makes them grow, and the whole purpose of the vessels is to express the light, and so without the light, it's like a soul without a body.

So now in this פרק, we're going to explain how the vessels have a special advantage over the אור, and that there's more התכללות in the vessels. The vessels interrelate more than the lights interrelate.

So now let's begin. והנה יש יתרון מעלה בבחינת הכלים מבחינת האורות, במה שיש בבחינת התכללות בכלים יותר מבאורות. The vessels have an advantage over the lights in this, that they, that the vessels have more התכללות, they have more inter, they relate, interrelate more than the אורות.

תיקון (harmony) arising from many vessels 1:25

שזהו עיקר בחינת התיקון, כידוע. That this is the main idea of תיקון, תיקון literally means to fix up, but here it means like harmony. כידוע דעיקר בחינת התיקון הוא בא מריבוי הכלים וכולי, as is known, that the main תיקון comes from many vessels.

That's as if there at first there were a lot of light and few vessels, and then the vessels broke, and that made תוהו, and then in תיקון, there were little lights and a lot of vessels. ודווקא על ידי בחינת חיצוניות הכלי שהוא בחינת נהי"הו, and it's this harmony in between the vessels is made specifically by the external vessel, which is the נהי"הו of the vessel.

והראיה לזה ממה שמצינו בכמה מקומות דאור החסד יוכל להאיר בכלי הגבורה, ואור הגבורה בכלי החסד. And the proof for this is that we find in many places that the light of חסד can shine into the vessel of גבורה, and the light of גבורה can shine into the vessel of חסד. ואם כן, and if so, מה שיחליף האור להאיר בכלי היפוכו, this, that the light can shine into the opposite vessel,

Why light alone cannot handle opposite light 2:47

אם היה זה מצד עצמו, if this was because of the light itself, that the light is able to handle the other vessel, למה לא יוכל ויחובר באור היפוכו המנגדו? Why does the light not connect with its opposite light? כמו אור מידת החסד, for example the light of חסד, a person that wants to be kind, שלא יסבול אור מידת הדין כלל וכלל. They would not be to tolerate the light of דין at all.

You know, somebody that wants to be kind and loves someone dearly is not going to be to tolerate a desire to harm them. אלא מוכרח לומר, rather we must say, שזהו מצד בחינת הכלי. The ability of the אור החסד to go into the כלי הגבורה, the ability of the light to go into an opposite vessel comes because of the vessel, not because of the light. The light cannot handle the opposite, but the vessel can handle the opposite.

שיוכל לסבול אור היפוכו המנגדו, that the vessel can tolerate the the opposite light that opposes it. כי יש בכלים דווקא בחינת ועניין התכללות מידה והיפוכו, because specifically the vessels have this quality of having two opposites at once, מה שאין כן באורות וכולי, and the, which is not the case with the lights. The lights are pure and altruistic, and they cannot handle any type of, it's not necessarily a hypocrisy, but just like it's duality, they can't handle anything like that.

וזהו עיקר התיקון בבחינת האדם מצד גופו. And this is the main thing of harmony that we find, the תיקון that we find in a person from his, because of his body, which is like the vessel.

כמו שאנו רואים בחוש, like we see tangibly, טבע איברי האדם, the nature of the organs of a person, שכל אחד יש בו התכללות מזולתו, that each organ is made up and connects to every other organ.

So the hand connects to the foot and like you see that like the brain and the nerve nervous system goes out into the whole body, and the heart, and the with the veins and everything goes out into the whole body, and the what's that, the food is digested by the liver goes out to the whole body, and then there's a lymphatic system goes in the whole body, and every part of your body has a connection to every other part of your body in this way, שכל אחד יש בו התכללות מזולתו, that each one is interrelates and is made up of the other one, עד שיכולים להשלים חסרון אחד על ידי רפואת אבר זולתו, until the the the body is so interconnected and interrelated that you can heal one part of the body through healing another part of the body.

In other words, like if somebody has a problem, you know, like let's say you give somebody a shot, you give them a shot on their arm, but it could be the shot on the arm is to help their kidney or their leg, because whatever goes into one part of the body will reach the the whole body, כמו לקלקול הראות בעין, for example, if somebody has difficulty seeing, they have a problem with their eyes, their vision, ירפאו כח הגידין שברגל.

So it's possible to heal the the different גידין, the different connectors in their foot, and that could heal the eye, because שיש בהן התכללות מגידין שבעין, because the גידין in the foot are connected and relate to the גידין in the eye.

Now, the word גיד is a generic term for anything that connects, so it can mean like tendons and ligaments, and it can also mean veins and arteries and nerves.

So this this sounds a little bit like reflexology, that he's saying that like you would heal the tendons and stuff in the foot and that would heal the eye,

but I once saw somewhere else where he says it sounds like he's talking more as far as the blood. He says that if somebody has a problem with their vision, so then you could like let blood from the foot and that would heal the eye.

But it doesn't, for the for the explanation here it doesn't really matter what medical procedure you use. The point is that it's possible to do a medical procedure on the foot and heal something in the head.

אבל לא ירפאו לאור וחיות שנחלש במוח עד שנחלש בראות מצד הזקנה וכאי גוונא על ידי חיזוק כח ואור חיות המדות שבלב. But let's say a person, because they're getting old, they start to lose the vitality in their brain, their soul starts to retract from the brain, and so it weakens their sight, and they start to go blind, not because there's something physically wrong, but because their soul starts to just leave them, gets tired of involving itself with the person's senses.

So for that it would not help to strengthen the light of seeing, if the problem is in only the light, not the vessel, it would not help to strengthen the light of let's say the emotions in the heart, to bring in more light also into the eye, it won't help. So if a person is getting old and they're starting to have a problem with their vision just because of the light, it won't help to throw them a party.

אף על פי שהמוח והלב כלולים זה עם זה, even though the brain and the heart are made up of each other and interrelate to each other, but that's the brain and the heart, not the light in the brain and the light in the heart, רק מצד חיזוק כלי הלב יחזקו לכלי המוח ויאיר כח השכל בראות יתר כו׳. Only if you if if you heal the vessel of the heart, then it will strengthen the vessel of the brain and that will cause the light of the שכל to shine into seeing more, so it will improve the vision.

So you can improve the vision by doing a something with the physical vessel, but with the light it won't it won't help, מפני שאין לאור השכל עם אור המדות חיבור, שאין לאור השכל עם אור המדות חיבור והתכללות כל כך כמו שיש חיבור והתכללות של כלי הלב עם כלי המוח, because there's not so much of a connection and interrelationship between the light of the שכל, or the light of the intellect, with the light of the emotions, like there is a connection and interrelationship between the vessel of the heart with the vessel of the brain, וכן כלי העין עם כלי החוטם וכלי האזן וכאי גוונא, and the same thing, the the same thing the eye is connected with the nose, and the ears, and the like, that all the different parts of the body are connected, ולזה הטעם, הנה דוקא מצד בחינת הכלי יוכל להאיר בה אור המנגד וכו' וד״ל.

And that's why specifically the vessel is able to hold the opposite light, because even a vessel of חסד has within it a thing of גבורה, and it connects to גבורה.

And even a vessel of גבורה has in it a thing of חסד, and it connects to חסד.
