Three Levels of Vessels and Their Sephirotic Links 0:03
והנה יש ג' מדרגות בכלים, there's three levels in the כלים: פנימיים, אמצעיים וחיצוניים, the inner כלים, the middle כלים, and the outer כלים. והענין ידוע, the idea is known, כי כנגד ט' ספירות חב"ד, חג"ת, נה"י יש ג' מיני כלים, that corresponding to the three groups, the three groups of three, three triads of חב"ד, חג"ת, נה"י, the שכל, the emotions, and the like impulse to act upon the emotion, those are חב"ד, חג"ת, נה"י, so there's three types of כלים that correspond to these three levels.
פנימיות הכלים הוא בחינת הגבלת האור דחב"ד שבאור, the inner כלים is what limits the light of the שכל, of the חב"ד within the
light, ואמצעיות הכלים הגבלת חג"ת דאור, and the middle כלים is what limits the emotions of the אור, וחיצוניות הכלים הוא הגבלת נה"י דאור וכולי, and the external vessels is what limits and brings out the נה"י, the expression, the external expression of the light.
The Concept of Hiddenness (Satar) in the Outer Vessels 1:20
והיינו, and this is what it says, אתה סתר, that You are hidden, that You, ה', are hidden. And the word סתר, if you look at it, the letters ס ת ר למפרע are the opposite, they're backwards דריש תוך סוף, of ר ת ס, which spells ר ת, which is ראשי תיבות for ריש תוך סוף.
Because the idea of סתר, of something being hidden, something being covered, means that the inside is hidden in the middle, and the middle's hidden in the outside, שעיקר ההגבלה וההסתר בחיצוניות הכלים וכולי, because the main limitation and the main concealment is in the חיצוניות of the כלים, the external vessels, which is the סוף.
Why? Because like you see, that when a person when a person does something, or says something,
the main thing that you see is the external thing they did. And it's very hard to usually you don't even see like how they feel about it to appreciate why they're doing it.
And already if you would see like how they feel, if you could put yourself in their shoes a little bit, then you would understand better what they're doing.
And if you would understand how they look at things, if you could get into their actual mind, then even more you would understand them.
But when a person's expression comes into their body, and it comes out from the the external vessels, it's very hidden. You don't see. You don't see anymore the intellect and emotions. You don't see very much of like what the person is doing, why he's doing it, how he feels, you just see the what happened from it.
How God’s Presence Is Concealed in External Realities 3:08
So the revelation of the person is very hidden there. And the same thing like with God and the world, that when ה' just makes the world run in like the the external vessels of like setting up like a system of like טבע and things, and like the sun giving us light, which is like an external vessel to give us like פרנסה, and like ה' makes wheat grow and that we can make it into bread, being an external vessel for our sustenance to give us food and energy, so there, Godliness is very hidden, because we're able to say, "Oh look, I don't need God, I have my wheat."
Especially like with the מן, they felt more the dependence, because it only came when they it only came every day, so they didn't have anything saved up. But when a person has something saved up, it's very easy for them to think, "Oh, what can God do to me? I have all this wheat saved up in my silo.
My storehouses are full of wheat, you know?" So they think that they're that they're set, and they don't really feel their dependence on God anymore.
Middle Vessels (Chesed) and the Creation Narrative 4:20
And that's all when it comes to the חיצוניות כלי. But like already the middle כלי, like חסד, is like what's creating everything from nothing. So there already, you see that there you know, that it must come from somewhere. Like the main thing that covers over Godliness is that people look at, they say, "Oh, it's Mother Nature," like the scientists say, "Oh look, it's like a scientific thing.
It's not from ה'." Now really, the the system of טבע is also really from ה'. But they don't see that. But when it comes like where the world originally came from, there already they can't hide it from God. They can't say ignore that that God must have created the world.
All they can do is say, "Well, it was a really long time ago, Big Bang, we don't know about it, how it happened." Like we know what happened from after that, but we don't know how that started.
And really they're not even so sure about what happened after that, but but when it comes like a חיצוניות כלי like that, then it's it's it's much more hidden.
וגם בענין מה שיש בכלי בחינת השפעת וירידת השפע למקבל דוקא כנ"ל, also in the ענין of the כלים that they bring the אור down to a מקבל, there's two things of the כלים. If you we explained before, there's two there's two ענינים of a כלי. There's כלים and תיקונים.
Vessels as Tools for Revealing Light to the Soul 5:21
The ענין of a כלי is just to reveal the אור to yourself. So for example, your brain is a כלי for your soul to reveal its שכל to itself. When an idea comes into your brain, then you know clearly what you're thinking. And your heart is a is a כלי to reveal your emotions to yourself, so you know what you're feeling, because it it changes the way that your heart's beating and your lungs are breathing.
And then like your liver, and that whole your your digestive system is a כלי for you, your body to just for you to have like physical life and consciousness, so that your soul should be able to like relate to the physical world.
Then there's the also the thing of the כלים to bring it out, not just do it for you, to reveal it for you in a physical, limited way, but to be able to relate to the outside world.
From Soul to Action: Brain, Heart, and Body Vessels 6:26
So now when your soul comes into your brain, you can explain an idea to somebody, and when it comes into your heart, then you can express the emotion to somebody, because it's from your heart it's going to come out that you're going to want to do things for them.
And through it comes out to your like your liver, you're going to you can have the כח המעשה to do it. So that's the external vessels that are called תיקונים. And also there we have גם כן כולם ג' מדרגות. So this ענין of the כלים also has three levels: the inner, the middle, and the external כלי. פנימיות הכלי הוא בחינת הבאת אור השפע דחב"ד.
The inner vessel is what brings over the light and the שפע of the חב"ד, of the intellect. That's the vessel to express to other people your שכל. והאמצעית, the middle כלי, להבאת המשכת אור דחג"ת, is to bring over the emotions, the feelings. והחיצונית, and the external vessel, להבאת שפע דנהי כו', is to bring over just like your וכן the the מעשה, the final thing you want to do, based on your intellect and emotions.
