Introducing the concept of vessels 0:00
ובבחינת הכלים and the vessels. So now we're just introducing all the basic concepts of vessels. Now, so there's the main vessels, the mind, the heart, and the liver, the brain, the heart, and the liver, I mean, which are the vessels for the נפש, רוח, נשמה. Then there's the חיה, יחידה which don't have real vessels, in a way of like, you know,
that they're actually like in the vessel, in a way of like התלבשות. Then there's within within every vessel has three
aspects. There's, it's included, it's composed of מראש עד סוף, head, middle, and an end, beginning, middle, an inside, middle, and an outside, שהוא פנימיות הכלים, which is the inner part of the vessel, ואמצעיות הכלים, the middle of the vessel, וחיצוניות הכלים, the external part of the vessel, וכולי.
So, כידוע, as known, it's like a משל of this, like a cup, there's inside the cup, there's the, there's a hand, there's outside of the cup, which is like where you hold it, and then there's the actual body of it, which is the middle.
That's the part that holds, the inside wall of the cup, where the space in the middle, that's where you hold liquid. The inside of the vessel is where it holds the liquid, the cup holds the liquid.
The outside of the vessel is where you hold the cup. And then the middle is the actual stuff that it's made out of, actual cup, right?
Yeah, in a way it's the same thing, in a way it's not the same thing. I mean, right, so the real vessel itself is the middle.
The inside is not really, it's really just where the vessel it's part of the shape of the vessel. The vessel is made in a way that it can hold something, and and then which is its purpose, and then the external part of it is where you're able to hold it, so that you're able to use it.
So like for example, the handle of a cup, some cups have a separate handle, that's like the called external vessel. That doesn't help the vessel, the cup at all, just helps you hold it.
So the outside sometimes, you know, has like a sometimes it's you don't have a special outside, and sometimes you do have, sometimes have like a special grip on the outside, like a special shape to grip or a special handle, and sometimes you don't, right?
And the inside, which is where it holds the stuff, sometimes is a special thing, sometimes it's not, like let's say like a knife that has like a special blade, so that's like the inside of it, that's the part that does the function.
So sometimes you have like a special thing that does the function, like the blade, and then you have like the the the you know, like the main body of it, which just gives it stability or or, you know, value or whatever, and then you have like the handle.
And that's the idea that the inner part of the vessel is where it serves the purpose, which is like the higher thing of it, then the middle part of it is like the actual vessel itself, with its properties and its whatever, and the outside of it is what allows it to be used, which is like external part of the vessel.
Arm example illustrating vessel components 3:22
Yeah, we're going to explain all this, so I I could I could say shortly here, but we're going to we're going to explain it later, so I don't need to really, but like for example, the your let's say your arm,
so the inner part of the arm is like the way that it's connected to the power of movement, which is through the nerves that connects to the brain, so that your soul can tell it what to do, so that's how it connects to the power of movement. The middle part of the vessel is the actual arm itself, the way it's constructed, so that it's able to, you know, has muscles that are constructed in a certain way to allow it to move in certain ways and whatever, so it's able to move.
And the external thing of it is when it's like its actual the way that it's able to, you know, move and grab things and do things, which is the way that it relates to things outside of you. Like it says like in a way it says like the the, you know, the בשר, גידים, עצמות, that there's there's like the bones, and then there's like the the tendons and all the different connecting things like the veins, and then there's the the meat.
So like the meat in there is like the external vessel, that's what actually moves the the the thing, to actually do the movement, to actually Then there's the both like the tendons and stuff that just connect the bones in the right way so they're able to move the right way, and also like the blood vessels that carry the blood and oxygen to give it the energy to be able to move, and the the nerves, and the the the bone is like what actually makes it be able to do it, and then the nerves give it like the tell it to do it.
Why discuss the 248 limbs of the king 5:12
Still there? Anyway we're going to talk about all that. וכדוע בענין רמ"ח איברים דמלכא, cuz it's known about the 248 limbs of the king.
Why do we say the 248 limbs? Well, that's the number of limbs. Actually if you count the bones in the body,
I think you have to count cartilage, though, like the kneecaps and stuff, something like that.
All right, it's 248, but what's the חשבון of the ספירות? Because first of all it comes from the ספירות, and we're talking here about upstairs, we're talking about the the ספירות. So the the ט' ספירות ש- שבבחינת ז"א, that the the set ten ספירות the nine ספירות of ז"א, right, cuz it's not מלכות, has 248 limbs. Why? שט' פעמים ט' עולה פ"א, 9 9 81, because each of the nine ספירות has nine ספירות to it, cuz it's a פרצוף, because it's only ז"א, there's not מלכות.
נוקבא is its own פרצוף where this is starts off having 10, but then the מלכות of each ספירה is broken off through the נסירה, which we're going to talk about later, like, you know, אדם וחוה, we just had פרשת בראשית, אדם וחוה were originally made with two פרצופים, and then she was cut off from him and built into her own פרצוף.
So ז"א starts off having נוקבא attached to it, and then it gets cut off. So the מלכות of each ספירה gets cut off and built into מלכות, its own פרצוף. So now it only has nine ספירות left, and each ספירה only has
nine. So 9 9 81. וג' פעמים ט' פעמים ט' נגד ג' מדרגות שבהן ריש תוך סוף, הנה עולה רמ"ג. Then each one of so you have there's nine general ספירות which correspond to nine general organs, right, like it says in פתח אליהו, there's the head, there's the right there's the right side of the brain is חכמה, the left side is בינה, right? The skull is כתר, right?
Mapping nine sefirot to nine body organs 6:54
And then the right arm, the left arm, the chest, the torso, the right leg, left leg, and the reproductive organ, right? Those are the nine ספירות, right? And then each of those though really has nine. So, for example, like your arm, there's your upper arm, your middle arm, and then there's all of your fingers, right?
So you have more than It's not just one thing, it's a lot of things, right? And then each one of those, so let's say just your upper arm, has really three parts to it, ריש תוך סוף, the inside, middle, and the outside, right? Like there's your skin, and then there's your there's your muscle, and then there's like your veins and nerves, and then your bone, there's all different layers.
Final calculation adding five chesed to reach 248 7:58
So in general we divide it up into three, ריש תוך סוף. So 3 81 is three is 243. And now we add five, וה' חסדים המגדילים הוא רמ"ח, and when you add the five חסדים that make the body grow, you eat get 248. And that's the חשבון of 248.
Usually the the ה' חסדים means like are like the liquids that make the body grow, but could be that in this context it's not the liquids, but the like the ends of the bones that grow or something, or, you know, but I'm not sure what what he what he means here in the body for the
ה' חסדים.
