Understanding הוי' אלקינו as פנימיות אבא 0:04
So that, that's the idea that הוי' אלקינו is the פנימיות אבא, which is not for a reason, it's not that you're not applying it, you're just appreciating the reality that you are connected to God, and that's an end in itself, and you don't need to do anything, you're not trying to do anything about it.
And then שמשם that, as a result of that, הוי' אחד, which is the idea of the יחוד דזו"ן. הוי' אחד is יחוד זו"ן, that you should realize how that God is one with the world, that He like controls everything, which is the idea of like the מדות coming into מלכות, that like you realize that God is controlling everything with השגחה פרטית and whatever.
But in order to realize that, you have to first realize that like that the world is being created by God and so essentially reveals Him in a way because there's nothing else except for God. And when you realize there's nothing else except for God and so therefore therefore it everything is by is is by His choice and is revealing Him.
Right, so then that makes a big change in your your מדות also, and the way that you look the way the world is run. Because if you see that if you think realize that every moment is being created by God's choice, recreated by God's choice, then you realize that everything is השגחה פרטית, and everything is, you know, has like a lesson, and everything and nothing can stop you from doing what ה' wants, and like all these different realizations come out from it, of like the way the world is, and like the way your מדות should be.
The Role of תוספת מוחין in Expanding Mind 1:34
So that new זו"ן comes כשבא להם בחינת תוספת מוחין חדשים. When they get this new מוחין, in other words, the reason that your מדות are the way they are now is because, or even and also within the world, the reason that like it seems like to be limited in a certain thing, like you think that in order to make money you have to do it this way, is because you have a messed up מוחין that you think that like the טבע is a set thing.
But when you realize the reality that really it's God is recreating the world every moment, and it's whatever, it's all just coming from Him, then you automatically you realize that that that when you once you realize that that's the reality, then your emotions become that you're not scared of anything except for God, and you're not, you know, you're not נתפעל, and you know what I mean, you see the world differently.
כדי שיוכל להוליד וכו'. This is like, so they can give birth.
והיינו במסירות נפש דקריאת שמע. And this is accomplished in the מסירות נפש of קריאת שמע. That when a person has מסירות נפש, which is that he reveals like his this essential connection to God that's not based on anything, that's not like for any פרט of תורה ומצוות, then he's able to, and like that he has essential connection, and and he reveals that, then he's able to apply that to make a a change in the way his מדות are going to be.
Tashuv and Messirat Nefesh Across High Holy Days 2:59
And that's the whole idea of ראש השנה and יום כיפור, and then סוכות, is that like the תשובה of ראש השנה and יום כיפור is to reveal this מסירות נפש that's that you have connection to God that's higher than the תורה ומצוות, and that you don't care about the תורה ומצוות, you just care about God.
And really that you have this essential connection that's got to be higher than תורה ומצוות. Once you realize that, then you're able to do תורה ומצוות in a way of מסירות נפש, that you're doing it because you have this essential connection, that's the whole reality of you, that's the reality of the world, and the whole purpose is just to reveal that, and so you know that nothing can stop you from revealing, and nothing can separate you, and so you're not scared, and you're not נתפעל from anything, and then you're able to do it without, you know, properly, then you're able to do תורה ומצוות properly.
'Cause 'cause you have to you have to get new a new perspec- worldview, a new perspective. That's the the main problem is that before you were you were trapped by this false worldview, and that's was what was give gave you this inhibition that limited your מדות and your מעשה, you know, made you a בעל מדות. And it's like a משל of like a kid that can't children, a child that that he can't get have children until he gets תוספת מוחין, until he he is he matures intellectually enough to have a דעת enough to, you know, to be able to to have children.
So until he gets that, he's not able to. But in order to be able to give to somebody else that's outside of him, he has to be able to feel his עצם, and like that, you know, and and and be like conscious of that, whatever, and not to be like worried that he's going to lose it, and you know, stuff like that.
Mitzvot Performed With vs Without Messirat Nefesh 4:46
So this is like the מסירות נפש of קריאת שמע, מה שאין כן בתורה ומצוות בלא מסירות נפש, when a person does תורה ומצוות without מסירות נפש, then they do not reveal God's עצם. When a person has the מסירות נפש first, and then they do תורה ומצוות, then they reveal God's עצם. Then they're just
they're they're not really doing a מצוה in a way. They're just doing like the external action of it, but it's just coming from it's not really coming from the פנימיות of the מוחין, that that's like who they are, and that's the real truth, and they're like dedicated to some higher thing. It's just that that's the way they were trained, and, you know, and they just still believe what they originally believed, and they're still committed to serving themself in the same way they always were.
And they just think that, you know, they'll get the the the best chance of them getting lollipops is if they listen to their mommy and טאטי and, you know, do תורה and מצוות. But it's like in a way מצות אנשים מלומדה, or it's still like within their טבע, and so it's not really like for God.
And so therefore, it doesn't really change him. It's still within his limitations, and therefore also the recip the reciprocal effect from God's point of view is that God doesn't like do miracles for him, and like, you know, like that God doesn't like change טבע for him, either, cuz he still is living within this like false reality of טבע, and he believes in it. And so if a person believes in טבע, God doesn't usually change it for him.
But a person that realizes that the nature of the world is that it's an arena to do תורה and מצוות, and that it's not possible for it to stop him, then his טבע becomes that, that the world will not stop him. Like a שליח of the רבי that realizes that the you know, as long as he's going in the רבי's כחות, and he just does what the רבי tells him to do, it's like normal for, you know, everything to work out.
That's the reality of the world, you know what I mean? So then miracles happen all the time. Yeah. Yeah, it's מדה כנגד מדה.
Martyrs' העלאת מ״ן to פנימיות of אבא 6:47
כמו שמבואר במקום אחר, כמו בענין עשרה הרוגי מלכות, like the ten martyrs that we read about in יום כיפור soon, yeah, שהעלו מ"ן לאבא בבחינת הפנימיות על ידי מסירת נפש דוקא, that they It says that they made a העלאת מ"ן to פנימיות of אבא that was enough to sustain the worlds all the way till משיח coming. That in other words, if their the the the pleasure that God got from what God from what they did like fulfilled the purpose of the world enough like for it to be worth doing the whole thing until משיח, just for them.
Because what they showed, the idea of מסירת נפש, which is not for the תורה and מצוות, and not for any purpose, that there's like an essential connection to God, and they showed that.
And so that that itself makes that's like the main thing of the world is revealing that. You know, they like they revealed the יחידה.
To the פנימיות of אבא, yeah. It's like It's like when any type of relationship, like a teacher and student, or a husband and wife, or anything like that, when the you know, let's say like you're teaching, and you're working to teach the students, if they put in a lot of effort and show a big interest, that's a העלאת מ"ן. That makes you more motivated because you feel that they're really interested and they want it.
Analogies of Commitment in Teacher-Student Relationships 8:05
So it makes you want to give more. And the same same thing you know, like if you're you know, like if if when you feel that like it which works both ways, but like like a husband feels like their wife is like dedicated to them, like, you know, appreciates them, whatever, then it will moti motivates them also to like give more and be more, you know what I mean?
So yeah, so this is העלאת מ"ן to the פנימיות of אבא. That means that like this that when a person has מסירת נפש for like selfless dedication,
that, you know, like reveals like the that this עצם connection that you have that's higher than anything. You know, so that's what like revealed when somebody shows like מסירת נפש, that they like give himself over to you like higher than you know, not like relating to Like they gave נעשה before נשמע? Well, the commitment of the יידן. Our commitment is like the מ"ן to God, the העלאת מ"ן to God, and His commitment to us is המשכת מ"ד.
So there's a commitment to the מצוות, and then there's מסירת נפש to God, which is like higher, that would show so we're not so not that that that it's not like you know, that it's in a way higher than the מצוות.
Cuz here they had מסירת נפש בפועל in their with their bodies, and And they didn't really gain anything, it was just like totally to like show that they are, you know, for God.
Like if God wants me to die, so I'll be willing to die, that's it, you know, and be tortured to death. Yeah, but there's like a dedication to subject matter, and then there's a thing if like dedicated to you.
It's very It inspires a teacher to give a lot more and to be a lot more dedicated to students when they are willing to like listen to whatever he says and like, you know, give up a lot for that, you know, give up everything for the teacher, you know what I mean? Like imagine like a חסיד of the רבי that's like, you know, willing to give his life away, you know what I mean?
Holocaust as Ultimate Example of העלאת מ״ן 10:44
That's like a big העלאת מ״ן. And then there's like the Holocaust was like, in a way, even more, because it's not even there, first of all, a lot of the times they didn't even have a choice, but it was like, you know, like everybody.
You know, like that story like where they sing אני מאמין, like that kind of stuff is just like crazy העלאת מ״ן, you know, it's like not even I don't I don't understand how it's possible to like have that kind of stuff, I don't really understand how like how it's possible to have that kind of stuff happening with משיח not coming, cuz it's like such a it's like so disproportionate.
It's like this huge העלאת מ״ן that's like ridiculous, and then like not, you know, what comes from it, you know what I mean?
