Introducing the קו and חוט concepts 0:00

ומעתה, and now that we explained the light before the צמצום, and we explained the צמצום and the רשימו, now we're going to explain the next stage in the השתלשלות, which is the קו וחוט. ומעתה יש להבין בבחינת הקו והחוט.

Now we must understand the קו and the חוט, שנמשך מבחינת הרשימו הנ״ל, which comes out from this רשימו that we mentioned before, this impression, דרך פרט.

We have to understand it like how we said we're going to explain everything in detail, we have to understand this also in detail. ותחילה, but first, before we get into the details of the קו וחוט, יש להבין בו בעניין כללותו, we have to understand about it in general. We have a general, in a way, a question or something about the קו, שהוא בבחינת ההיפך ממש מבחינת רשימו הנ״ל, that

generally speaking, the קו is the exact opposite of the רשימו, of the impression, כי הנה הנקודה מורה ההעלם והסתלקות הכל, עד שלא נשאר רק נקודה אחת. What did we explain the point is? We explained the point is that all of the light, the whole infinite light of everything that God could do and be, and even all the fishes He can create, and and all the different, you know, infinite flavors of bubble gum and like all kinds of things, that was all hidden, and all that was left was one point.

וגם נקודת הרושם הזה מורה בבחינת העדר התפשטות למטה דווקא. Also we said that the idea of the point is that even what is this little like one tiny little point that's left of everything that was there before is in a way that it doesn't spread out because it's a point.

So, that also shows it doesn't come out. And this is an important thing that we might have said before is that even though relative to the אין סוף and everything before the צמצום, the רשימו is like a zero, it's like totally like all the light is hidden, it's like a nothing, but compared to everything that comes out afterwards, it is completely infinite.

דהיינו עניין העדר המשכה והתגלות לאורך ולרוחב. So, it's totally, has no התפשטות, which means it doesn't have an אורך, it doesn't have a רוחב. It's just a point. Has nothing in the middle, nothing, it doesn't go out long or

wide, כתמונת היו״ד, which this looks like the letter יו״ד, שאין בו תוך וכולי וכולי, כידוע, which how do you write a letter יו״ד? It's just a point, has no inside. All the other letters have more of dimensions to it.

והנה, בעניין הצמצום שלמעלה מעלה, when we're talking about now we're going to see what what's really the problem of the this רשימו? Why can't it seem to be revealed?

Nature of צמצום: hidden point versus removal 2:41

As far as the צמצום, the type of צמצום that makes it, דהיינו מה שנשאר בבחינת נקודה לבד, which is that all the light was hidden in just one point, we explained the last two chapters that we're not saying that the light was actually completely removed, that would mean the צמצום כפשוטו. We're not saying that the צמצום is כפשוטו, right?

That it was removed, we're saying that it was hidden in a point. Like the blueprint has the whole building, the house in it, or like the sign to remember has the whole intellect in it, even though it's totally hidden, like, you know, but yet it's all there.

And like when you throw a stone, that your whole power of movement is hidden in the stone, and even your whole essence is hidden in the stone, which is why if it kills somebody, then then they'll kill you, רחמנא ליצלן.

And like the hand motion that hints at a very deep intellect, you know, like a peace sign for the hippies, right? That hints at their whole philosophy, but it's really just two fingers. So you say it's totally hidden, you don't see any intellect there, but yet the whole intellect is hidden there.

And like writing, when you're writing, you know, also the movement the fingers are moving, you don't see any intellect in fingers twitching, you just see the fingers twitching, right? Even the person that's writing doesn't consciously know what's going, you know, he doesn't see the שכל there, doesn't see any intellect, he just sees his fingers moving, but yet it all comes through onto the paper.

The whole essence is there, too. So, as far as the צמצום, it's not a problem because it's all there. So, cause if the צמצום took away all the light, so then we have a question how it can be revealed again. Saying, but we don't have a question because of the צמצום, because the צמצום didn't take it all away, it put it all in there. So, on the contrary, that's why the רשימו can be the source of everything that comes afterwards, because it was all stuffed in there, right?

So whatever you want to bring out, it's there. The whole כח of the אין סוף, the whole infinite light, it's all there. Every flavor bubble gum, the last one, it's all in there.

Every song, every sight, every flavor, every every everything, it's all there. So, as far as the type of צמצום that it's left as only a נקודה, יכול להיות שיהיה מזה ההיפך. It could be the opposite, it could be that there would be be a revelation coming out from the רשימו. מפני שמחמת זה יוכלל בו הכל,

because since it had this type of a צמצום, everything was put into it. It's true that it made it into a point, but it made it into a point because it stuffed everything in.

So the whole infinity was being put there. הכל בקיצור וברמז, just that it's in a very short and hinted way, like we said before with the analogies of the mnemonic and like the signs to remember and things like that, וכהאי גוונא. ואדרבה, on the contrary, זהו עיקר סיבת כל גילוי ההשפעה כנ״ל. All the lights in the השתלשלות are all coming out from the רשימו. They're being re-extracted from the רשימו again.

רשימו as source for all subsequent revelation 5:36

Like we said with the משנה, how they reconstituted the original גמרא from the משנה. The משנה was taking the גמרא and putting it down into a short form, and then from there they reconstitute the whole thing. Or like with a blueprint, they take the whole plan of how to build a house, you know, like what is it? What's this guy's name, the famous...Lloyd Wright? Was it Frank Lloyd Wright, right?

That's his name. Puts a few notes and makes a little thing, and then the whole house comes out of it. Right? So it's all it's all there, but in a hidden way, and that's why it's all able to come out. And the same thing with all the other analogies.

What would be צמצום כפשוטו, if they couldn't come out, that would be like if, say, when they hired him to make Fallingwater, and so he's making the blueprint, he just decided, \"Nah, I don't want to make them a beautiful, artistic building with all my architectural ability and know-how. Instead, I'm going to write them a blueprint for a little tool shed.\" And that will be it.

And it won't be over the waterfall, falling water, and it won't, you know, it will just be like this thing, a little shack in the woods.

So there, he actually left out a lot, you know. Or if he said, \"You know what? No, I'm not I'm not even going to do it at all.\" That would be complete צמצום, כפשוטו.

But they say, \"Would you build us a thing, we'll pay you a lot of money,\" and he says, \"No, sorry, won't do it.\" See, he's holding back his wisdom.

Right, you have partial and complete צמצום in that way, that's like a כפשוטו, yeah. Now, here here you're not losing anything, it's just all it's just being put in a hidden way.

The צמצום, that only means the צמצום that this צמצום, the fact that everything is put into it, that's the whole reason why there was able to be the whole גילוי afterward, cuz it's all there. And how does how do they build a house?

Frank Lloyd Wright didn't go there and build a house and tell them what to do the whole time. So how did they know? These, you know, the people the builder people are not necessarily very smart. They could just be these stupid people that don't know very much. You know, they know how to bang in a nail and drill in a screw. I mean, they have to learn whatever they have to learn, but, you know, they don't have to be like artistic and they don't have to know engineering, all the kind of things that Frank Lloyd Wright had to know, they don't have to know.

They could just be these simple people that know how to build, you know, which is also a חכמה, but it's not it's a חכמה of the hands instead of a artistic חכמה and like a brain חכמה of like, you know, engineering and stuff. So how did they do that? How do they do it, right? In fact, they did better than than what Frank Lloyd Wright did. He just drew a drawing of it on paper, they actually built it.

Builders vs architect: executing the hidden blueprint 8:09

It's not so hard to draw a nice house on paper, it's a lot harder to build a nice house, right? That's the whole they made a חידוש. Nobody makes a big deal about that drawing, people make a big deal about the house. Right?

Why do we even say that it's his house, that he made it? He has nothing to do with it. He didn't make it. He didn't make one He didn't even put touch one brick on it.

Because the whole reason why that the house came out בגילוי in that shape is because they were following the blueprint that he made, where he put his whole wisdom and everything of how to make the house into it, and so it's his house.

Right? And his עצם gets connected to it, and if it would have fallen down, they would have sued him for not being an engineer.

Yeah, he could have made any house he wanted. We're just talking about like, let's say he just want to make this one, but that's the משל. The משל is that all of his wisdom and knowledge of how to make this house, he puts in the blueprint, and then you don't need him anymore. If you want to change something, then you need him again, then you'll need him to make a new one.

If you want to change even one line on it, one little thing, you know, you have to you have to get him to come back and look over it, because only he understands what everything's for, and how it all works together. They don't know, right? Like you know the story of the architect, and he made this plans for a king, for a palace, and I don't know if it was being copied over, and he left it out, or the guy that was building just didn't care, there was like one dot on the thing that they forgot to build.

But that dot represented this support beam, which was like the central support beam that went through the whole structure, you know. And but looking like from a bird's eye view on the blueprint, it was just one dot, and they, you know, wasn't the main thing with the wall walls, and it was just this dot. And they left it out, and so they built this whole thing, and then it collapsed.

Why? Because they left out this one little dot. He says, \"It's just a little thing. It's a little dot. I built, I did the main thing.\" So yeah, but if you're missing that central point that holds it all up, it doesn't matter how little it is if it's an important thing. So they don't necessarily know. They don't have to know and understand how it's important.

The the blueprint's like רשימו, yeah. The dot's not like רשימו. Dot's like רשימו because it's a dot, but it's not. That's not what we're talking about.
