Why we need multiple analogies 0:03

So that's the end of this analogy. Now we're going to give a few more analogies to help us understand this one better, because this one is the main one, but these other ones help to get a clearer picture. It always helps to have a few analogies, and then it's impossible to give a perfect analogy, so each one kind of helps to fill in where the other ones, you know, lack and give you a clearer picture of what we're talking about.

Yeah, like for example, if you have a cat, so or anything, a person or you know, anything, that in you know, if they're a if they're a healthy living being, so their body already they ate their you know, the cat ate its cat food that day, and it has energy, it has strength, it's able to move. It has, but that potential that it got, that strength that it got from its cat food that lets it move is is not it's it's until it moves, it's not really something separate from it at all.

אף על פי and also like as far as the soul of the cat, that the soul of a cat can move, can move its body.

But you know, when a cat's just sleeping, it's not moving, it's just sitting there, I mean it's breathing and you know, but it's not it's basically mostly not moving. You don't see it, but really just the fact that it's a living thing, it has that ability to move.

So like when the cat goes stalking a mouse, so it crawls up quietly behind it, and then it crouches down, and it pounces and slams its hand down, its paw down on the mouse, and it beats it around a little bit, and then it eats it.

So there there's a whole bunch of particular, very calculated movements. You know, the cat's a hunter when it stalks quietly and measures exactly how to pounce and everything.

We can't say that all of these particular movements are were like existed as separate things and that were united in this power of movement the way that it's in the essence of the cat. You can't say the cat has a power to like lift its right its right paw and another one for its left paw, then a crouching power, and pouncing power, but rather it's just one thing.

Well, as far as the soul, it's one thing for sure, and even as far as the body, it's just this you know, it has the energy from the food it ate, but it's not like it has to eat special food for moving each foot and for jumping and for crouching.

It's just this simple energy, and then the body, it's true, that when it comes into the body, so the way the muscles are shaped and the bones are shaped and the way it's constructed lets it move in certain ways. But as far as the energy, it's the same energy, and as far as the the power of the cat to control the body, it's just tells it to move that, to move that.

It's the same the same signal that tells the right arm to to move tells the left one to move. It's just that one gets sent to this one and one gets sent to that one, you know?

Just the soul send tells the brain, and the brain sends a electrical electrochemical impulse through the nerves, and it tells the muscle to to pull, and the muscle pulls. And depending which muscle you tell to pull, depends which way you're going to move. But it's the same thing, you know? Yeah, so it's a simple ability to control the body, and it's just a simple energy physically also, it's just a simple energy from what it ate.

That's also called like the power of movement, is the energy from what you ate. It's the same thing like electricity, that you know, you can plug whatever you want into your outlet, you don't need a special outlet for your your toaster and another one for your radio. The electricity is just this essence of you know force, it's the force, you know, and you can plug whatever you want into it.

So the same thing, the cat, the food that it eats, it it gets from that a certain energy that's just, you know, gets comes into his body, and then it can move however it wants with that energy, because it's just the essence of energy. It's the essence of movement, so it automatically includes any movement it wants. And then with the soul, the spiritual, that in the soul the cat is the spiritual power of movement that it can control and tell the body what to do.

So whichever way you're going to look at it, though, it doesn't have the individual movements as like separate things. מאחר שאז לא היה בסוג וגדר תנועה כלל, because then the way that it was included in the essence, it wasn't in the whole realm or category of movement at all.

So there were there weren't like the general idea of movement wasn't there even, that there's like to move this arm, to move that arm, or even the idea of like up and down, and for sure not particular movements of like moving this, you know, twitching its top left whisker.

Right? So there you can't So even though it includes all the details, but you ממש you see very clearly that they're not there as individual things, but it's rather just this higher, simple essence, and everything else comes out from it.

The same thing with consciousness, the soul's power of consciousness, before it spreads out into the body to give it life, the way that it's just, you know, included in the essence of your soul, like, you know, if you're sitting in a dark, quiet room, so you're not seeing anything, you're not hearing anything.

So when it's when it comes out, so even though when that power of consciousness is revealed, it comes out as seeing and hearing and feeling and tasting and smelling, but the power of consciousness, though, is really the same for hearing and seeing. It's not really two different powers, and even physically, in your brain, it's one thing. They all come to the brain. Your eyes go to your brain, your ears go to the brain, and in your brain, they're the same.

There's no difference between the signal that comes from the eye and the signal that comes from the ear as the way that is in the brain. The difference is just which part of the brain it goes to or the exact order that it's in. But if you would just as far as what's going on, it's just the same impulses flying through your brain, and then your brain, it just perceives those as different things.

Surely even before it was revealed, before you actually saw something or actually heard something, your soul had the ability to see and to hear.

And you see this very clearly in this analogy of seeing and hearing because your eye doesn't really see, your soul sees. And this is a thing which it at first it's a little hard to explain to people, but it's something that even in science they talk about, the difference between physical things and psycho-physical things.

So like, a sound, when you speak about like loudness, loudness is not a physical thing, that's a human thing, that's the way that you feel, the way that you perceive a sound. The physical thing of it is that it's moving a lot of air, it's called amplitude, that it that the louder something is, the more air it pushes when it vibrates. So like when they ask, if a tree falls in a forest and nobody's there to hear it, does it make a sound?

The answer is: no, it doesn't make a sound, it moves a lot of air, but the sound only exists in your head. There is no sound in the, you know, from the tree.

And the same thing with seeing. There is no real thing of color in the world. There's just the light hits things and then it bounces off at different frequencies, and your eye, when your eye is, you know, the the different frequencies hit your eye, it sends signals to your brain and your soul sees those different things as, you know, different colors.

But it's really all so it's really all coming from your soul. So since it's really all coming from Your soul. We must say that that the different, that the the idea of hearing and seeing and the different colors and different sounds were already included in your soul.

And your soul already had within it the potential for seeing and hearing as different things, because if it wouldn't, where would those differences come from?

It didn't come, doesn't come really from your eyes and your ears. Your eyes and your ears are just like triggering it to be revealed, right? So we see that it's like a it's a היולי again. We see that it's an essence. So first of all, you know, if once you have the power of seeing, you can see everything. You can't like ever have a situation where you tell a person, "Oh, you see that chair over there?"

Says, "What chair?" "You know, the chair right there." "No, I guess I can't see that chair." Right? That's that's never going to happen, cuz if you have the power to see, then you can see anything. Now sometimes a person, because like there there's a problem with their eye or whatever, they they're like color blind, or this or that, but that's you know, that's just a a physical defect.

You know, if there's a problem with their eye, but that's like the same thing like if you would put a blindfold on a person. Doesn't really stop, take away their their real their power to see really. It's just not, it's not being revealed.

Right, and the same thing power of movement. You can't say, "I'd love to pass you the the salt, but, you know, I just I don't, I ran out of passing the salt movements. I used my last one up for the last guy." So, you you you can't run out of them and you can't be missing them, because once you have the essence, you have everything.

This is the same way that the power of movement is included in the essence of the cat, that it doesn't have the particular movements there.

The same way, you don't have the particular things of seeing and hearing in your essence of your soul, but only they're only revealed when it, afterwards when it comes into the body.

There it's just one simple thing, that your soul has the ability to perceive things, to be conscious of things.
