Napoleon as a Model of the Kingship Attribute 0:02
So for example, let's take a a great king and world dictator, like, for example, Napoleon. So he went on, and he conquered a lot of the world, the whole like Europe, and started conquering Russia. He was a He wanted to be a world dictator.
And so there's a whole He had a big, great desire to be king, and there was a big intellect of how he's gonna how he was going to do that, and how his laws were going to be, and he had a whole system, and a whole a whole theory to how these countries are going to run, and, you know, the French Revolution, everything like that.
But all those details, that that's just that's the way it came out when he actually, you know, like that's like a particular thing. That's like a kind person giving a coat. That's a per- That's the particular way that his desire to be king came out.
But really, as soon as he was born, he already had in him the desire to be king. The proof is that later he went on to want to be king.
But the way that that attribute of kingship was in him when he was a baby, he didn't yet have all the details. He didn't know how he's going to do it. He didn't even know what country he was in. He didn't know that he wanted to be king of France.
So that's what he's going to say now: אך קודם שבא לבחינת התגלות בדבר פרט, but before the attribute of kingship is revealed in a particular thing, כמו למלוך על מדינה זו, like to be king of this country, like Napoleon wanted to be the king of France and then take over the rest of the world, וכהאי גוונא, כלולים ומתאחדים בתכלית בבחינת מידת המלוכה ההיולית העצמיות,
it was totally all these details were included and united completely in the the central attribute of kingship within himself, that part of his self of who he is that he that he is a a leader, you know? That he had Not that he's actually a leader, necessarily, but every person has somewhat within them, and in some people, it's much more prominent, that they have leadership ability, and they feel this thing that they are a leader, and it could come out in wanting to be in charge of their eighth-grade class yearbook, or could come out in being king of France.
But the desire to be like a leader, and to be on top, and other people should recognize your supremacy, and, you know, praise you and listen to you and stuff like that, you know, that comes out like later in the book he says, even like a little kid that likes to impose himself on animals and stuff.
That's a thing of kingship even. You know, the little kids who like go to a dog and like press their head down and sit on them and stuff.
But the main thing of kingship is over people that are equals to you, you know, like otherwise equals to you. כמו
בעצמי בעצמות חפץ חסד ההיולי הנ״ל, just like we spoke about the essential power of kindness in yourself. That just like the kindness includes all the shoes and the coats, so, too, the attribute of kingship includes all the different countries. But it's not really that all the details are there, but rather, it's a higher thing, it's a higher essence, and automatically, if you have the essence, then all the details come out automatically.
You don't need to have each detail as a separate thing. So that's the analogy. ואם כן, if so, if so, that each of the powers of the soul, really, they're what are they? What is the real thing of kindness? It's not a a bunch of particular details, rather, it's just one essence that you are kind. It's really part of your self-identity. And if you have that identity, that you're a kind person, automatically, the details will all come out.
Essence Over Details: Kindness as Identity 4:05
The same thing with with all the other ones: with justice, and beauty, and victory, and kingship, that those are just parts of your identity. Those are just who you are.
And if that's who you are, then automatically, you'll want to do this, and you'll think like that, and everything. And really, every single person has all 10 of them, just that they bring them out in different ways.
And that's a person's individual identity, that really, that's what he's saying now, that really, it's understood, ואם כן מובן ממילא, if so, it's understood automatically, שבבחינת מידות העצמיות, the כתר חכמה בינה וחסד גבורה תפארת ונצח הוד יסוד מלכות ההיוליים שבעצמיות הנפש, It's understood automatically that all 10 of the essential powers, attributes of yourself, in other words, that your desire and wisdom and understanding and kindness and severity and beauty and victory and glory and יסוד is like the idea of your relationship, and your kingship, your leadership ability, that all of these aspects of yourself, of who you are, and it's not even just your identity, this is like actually what what you are as a person.
It's not just like your self-image, but this is actually the part of the identity of you as a as a human being that are part of the essence of your soul, לא יתכן לומר גם לשון זה שמתאחדים וכלולים בעצמיות הנפש, הנקרא יחידה. We can't even say that these are 10 different attributes that have distinct identities and that they're just somehow like united and included in within the essence of your soul, which is called the יחידה, within your in inner self.
The Soul as One Unity, Not Separate Parts 5:51
We can't say really that in your inner self there's one part of you that's kind and another part of you that is wise and that they get put together and make you. Really, there's just you.
You are one simple essence, you're just you. And automatically by being you, you, if you just be yourself, you know, like how they tell you always, just be yourself. You don't have to try to be, you know, impress people that you're kind, that you're wise, whatever it is. If you just be yourself, automatically all those things will come out.
Just like if a person tries to be kind, automatically the shoes and coats will come out, if you just try to be yourself, automatically the wisdom and the kindness and all those things will come out.
Because that's just who you are, that really each the essence of each of those attributes is just you, that you are kind, that you are wise.
So really, they're not separate things, it's just you. Yeah, the further there's a general thing that that there's just you as a human being, there's a certain essence of what a person is, and just like there's a certain essence of what kindness is, and that human factor, when that is expressed in the world the realm of intellect, it comes out as wisdom, and when it's expressed in the realm of emotion, it comes out as these different emotions of kindness and, you know, of justice and those kind of things, you know, because only people those are these are human attributes.
People people are kind. Rocks aren't kind. Plants aren't kind. So, really all of those attributes are are like shoes and coats, that it's really just the way that the human element is expressed in all these different you know, arenas, but it's really one essence. There's just a human thing.
Human Essence vs. Artificial Intelligence 8:05
Now, there's also individual, every person has their own little individual style and twist on the human element, and that's why each person really, if they'll just be themselves, it will come out in each situation they'll you know, you know how to be yourself. And each situation, you'll do you know, you'll every person will know how to act according to their who they are. You know, but at the core, every person just as by by the fact they're a person has the potential for all 10 of these things automatically.
And it's not like they're a bunch of separate things that are put together to make him, but rather there's a higher thing than all of them, which is that he's a person. And just when you take that and put it into intellect, it comes out as creativity, and it comes out as, you know, logic and stuff. And this is another thing like in all these sci-fi books and movies and stuff where they you know, they try to make like artificial intelligence and they make computers and robots and they try to give them all the characteristics, but you know, there's certain things that you can't give that's that that's you know, there's something higher than just like a programmed thing.
It's not it it there's a you need a you need a certain essence, which is like the soul. You need that human element, and there's certain things, like for example humor. You can't teach a computer humor, and you can't teach creativity to a computer. You can't, you know, because these things are all part of just that human element that's higher than than all these things. You can make a computer like do computations, so it can it has intellect, but it doesn't have human intellect.
It's missing that essence. So really, all of the these attributes, all of these 10 attributes are really just one essence. It's just the human element being put Being expressed and applied in all different ways.
