Mitteler Rebbe’s Introduction to the Sefer 0:04
Now on to the Mitteler Rebbe's introduction for the ספר. So this הקדמה is a little snippet from the general introduction to the ספר, which is the introduction to שער האמונה, which is the because this ספר is two parts, שער האמונה and שער היחוד, and so at the end of the introduction to שער האמונה, the Mitteler Rebbe adds on a little bit, and he says that "I'm also adding on another book to שער האמונה, namely שער היחוד, that explains אחדות השם, explains God's unity."
And so that little piece of the introduction is cut out and pasted here, and that is this little introduction to שער היחוד here, where he just explains what the purpose of this book is.
So now let's learn it inside. מהות הקונטרס הלז, the essence or the the purpose of this קונטרס, מדבר בענין היחוד אלוקות בכל פרט ופרט, it explains God's unity with every detail, בסדר ההשתלשלות, in the order of creation, דעשר ספירות דאבי"ע, of the ten ספירות of the four worlds, אצילות, בריאה, יצירה, and עשיה.
So it explains how God is one and his unity is revealed through all of the details of the השתלשלות with the four worlds and all the details in those worlds. והוא קיצור מכל אשר יוכל איש לקרב אל השכל בהשגה מלובשת ונתפסת במוח ולב.
Summarizing the Concept for the Human Mind 1:54
This book is a summary or an explanation in short of everything that a person is able to understand, to bring close to their intellect, and the the idea that he says לקרב אל השכל is again because really this is a godly intellect, it's really coming from his נפש האלוקית that he perceives this and and like believe has this in a way of אמונה, but now we're trying to bring this אמונה בפנימיות and understand this presumption, and so it's trying to be to bring this close to the שכל in an understanding that is enclothed and grasped by the mind and the heart, which means that you can understand it, everything that a person can understand, בכל פרטי סדר ההשתלשלות, about all the details of the סדר השתלשלות.
So this is everything you can understand about the השתלשלות in short, השתלשלות for dummies. מצמצום
From the First Contraction to the End of Creation 3:12
הראשון עד סוף עולם העשיה, from the first contraction until the end of the world of עשיה. And really this includes a little bit before the צמצום הראשון, because in order to explain the צמצום הראשון he explains what it was being מצמצם, all the way to the end of the world of עשיה, which means the world of the קליפות, which is the end of the world of עשיה.
So it explains the whole השתלשלות. והוא הנקרא בשם קונטרס ההתבוננות, this is the self-same book that was known previously as קונטרס ההתבוננות, the book of the the קונטרס on contemplation, שרבים משתוקקים שיעלה בדפוס, that the masses were yearning for it to be printed, כי רבו בו הטעיות מאד בהעתקות שונות, because it started to have a lot of mistakes in the handwritten copies.
And so since there were a lot of mistakes, people wanted it to have an authoritative version, and so they were asking that it should be printed, and so it was printed. ומובטחני
Author’s Sincere Intentions and Hope for Acceptance 4:35
מאד, and I am very sure, שיקובל לרצון לפני ה', that God will accept favorably, כוונתי הרצויה, my good intentions, לטובת כל איש דורש אלקים באמת ובתמים, to help every person that seeks God with truth and sincerity.
The מיטעלער רבי writes this very often in his introductions to his ספרים that he is writing his books for people that are searching for God with truth and sincerity. וידינוני לזכות
בכל אשר לא יוכשר בעיני חכמים, and that I'll be judged favorably in anything that might be found improper in the eyes of the sages, וכמו שכתוב שגיאות מי יבין כו', that who can know unintentional sins. So in other words, if there's a mistake by accident, there's a mistake in the book, I should be השם should forgive me. Now, when it says there's mistakes, that means first of all in case that there's, even though they edited it, sometimes there could be like a printing mistake still in the printed version.
Addressing Potential Mistakes in the Printed Edition 5:43
And also it could be that there's problems that you're explaining too much, you're explaining too little. You know, that's what like the thing, there was a קטרוג on the on the on חסידות by the מגיד and then by the אלטער רבי, and then again by the מיטעלער רבי, there's kept getting thrown in jail because of קטרוגים. So it's like a tricky business to to make sure that you're explaining it right and in a way that people meaning not of course the מיטעלער רבי knows what he's talking about, of course he's explaining it right, but to explain it in the best way for the מקבלים so that we should understand it right and and also the מיטעלער רבי was known to be very humble.
He's he's called like an עניו in in his and when people when he's addressed by like חסידים. I don't know if you really find that by the other רביים.
So, you know, you see very much in all of his introductions that he's always very humble. So he's like saying, you know, if if there's by accident there was a mistake or somebody doesn't like the way it's done or whatever, you know, I mean, I my intentions are sincere and I'm trying to do what השם wants, and trying to help people and to come closer to God, and השם should, you know, bless my endeavor.
והשם ירים קרן ישראל, we of course we end with a wish for משיח, cuz that's the real thing we want, that השם should raise up the the the glory of the Jews, ויאיר עיניהם באור השם, and he should enlighten their eyes with the light of God, אור עולם, the eternal light or the light of the world, בחן וחסד ורחמים, and bless them with grace, kindness, and mercy, בחיי הנשמה ובחיי הגוף, with the spiritual life, the life of the soul, and physical life, the life of the body, וינטלם וינשאם כל ימי עולם עד ביאת הגואל, and he should raise them up and carry them, meaning to protect them from and raise them above all problems and worries, and like carry them, in other words like protect them, until משיח comes.
May it be immediately.
